Luffy’s Gear 5 II Special Ver. King of Artist figure takes one of his most playful Nika-style poses and gives it a sharper special colour finish. The figure shows Monkey D. Luffy upside down with his legs raised, fingers pulled around his eyes like goggles, a wide cartoonish grin, white cloud-like hair and swirling smoke effects around the body, making it feel much more expressive than a standard standing Luffy release.
The Special Ver. colouring is the main difference from the earlier Gear 5 II figure. Banpresto confirms this release uses the mould from the July 2024 King of Artist Gear 5 II figure, but updates the colour treatment, so it should be listed as a special colour variation rather than a completely new sculpt. The pearlescent white outfit, purple sash, cloud effects and inverted pose make it especially useful for collectors who want a more unusual Gear 5 display piece.
At approximately 15 cm tall, this figure is compact compared with larger Grandista or Battle Record Collection releases, but the upside-down pose gives it strong visual impact on a shelf. It is a good choice for One Piece collectors looking for Gear 5 Luffy, Nika form figures, King of Artist releases, special colour versions or a display piece that pairs well with Kaido, Kizaru/Borsalino, Snakeman, Boundman and other battle-focused Luffy figures.
